Farrah Leni was an American actress, model and painter. Her character in "The Apostle" made her a star. In Corpus Christi Texas she started her professional career as a commercial actor. Additionally, she's been in television shows including I Dream of Jeannie and The Flying Nun. She had her first film role with a small supporting part on her role in the French feature film Love is a Funny Thing. Her international recognition was due to her famous red swimming suit poster, which was the highest selling pin-up poster ever. She appeared in many famous TV shows and films throughout the years, which helped establish her as a sexual symbol. In the cult crime-drama series Charlie's Angels, she played a detective. Three female actors worked for Los Angeles' private detective agency. Apart from playing glamorous characters as well, she was also known to play dramatic roles including the one of a battered wife in the TV movie 'The Burning Bed. Her name was placed at 26th in TV Guide's "50 Greatest TV actors of all time'. At the age of 60, she was diagnosed with suffering from anal cancer. She died 3 years later.
